Himachal's Assembly organises water conservation workshop

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Mar 28 (ANI): The assembly of Himachal Pradesh organised one day workshop for legislators on water conservation. The Assembly speaker said that the objective is to make people aware of the state on water conservation.

"The experts on water conservation feel that the states like Himachal Pradesh can set an example for others as being the state of rivers, lakes and waterfalls. Rajender Singh expert on water conservation said that the agriculture, youth and water is flowing in the state.

Himachal Pradesh has 1600mm annual rainfall and it needs to be conserved. It needs sustainable water management to stop erosion and also needs to link crop pattern with rain pattern.

The environmental flow of rivers needs to be regulated. A water literacy moment is need of the hour in Himachal Pradesh," said Rajeev Bindal, Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Assembly
