Hornbill Festival: Participants enthrall audiences with folk dances, traditional sports

Kohima (Nagaland), Dec 06 (ANI): Visitors at the Hornbill Festival, were treated to different folk dances, traditional sports and a fashion show in Nagaland's capital Kohima. The 10-day festival, being held in Naga Heritage Village Kisama, is an annual event which seeks to promote and preserve the culture of the ethnic people.

So far, over 70,000 people including domestic and foreign tourists have visited the festival which was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind. Hornbill Festival has emerged as one of Nagaland's most popular attractions for troupes and tourists from different parts of the world.

It has been named after hornbill bird, which features in most of the folklores of Nagaland.
