India, Singapore remain strongly committed on transnational security threats: Nirmala Sitharaman

New Delhi, Nov 29 (ANI): After holding talks with her Singapore counterpart, Ng Eng Hen, Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, on Wednesday, said both nations remain strongly committed on 'transnational security threats'. "India and Singapore remain strongly committed on transnational security threats", Sitharaman said during a joint statement in the national capital.

India and Singapore also signed a Navy-to-Navy agreement today. "The signing of our Navy-to-Navy agreement today reflects our intention and commitment to further deepen cooperative endeavours in our shared maritime domain to address mutual concerns", the Defence Minister asserted.

She further briefed: "The Defence Minister of Singapore responded positively to my proposal that we proactively move towards continuous institutionalised naval engagements in our shared maritime space, including setting up maritime exercises with like-minded countries and our other ASEAN partners."
