Jitendra Singh conducts aerial survey of flood-hit Assam

Onboard/Guwahati, August 26 (ANI): Minister of State for Development of Northeast Region (DoNER) Jitendra Singh conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas of Assam. Incessant rains that caused floods destroyed hundreds of villages and several districts in the state, affecting lakhs of people.

Floods have disrupted normal life as residents are forced to wade through water to reach their destination. Singh said that the central government was assessing the kind of assistance required.

Singh also interacted with displaced people living in relief camps. The government has set up relief camps across the state where affected residents are seeking shelter and being provided with food and medicines.
