Manipur's first LED village set to alleviate power scarcity in the state

Thoubal (Manipur) Dec 8 (ANI): Electrification of all villages across India is an initiative taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently. To achieve the goal, Mangal Rural, a non-profit organization in Manipur distributed light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs and TVs to every households of Kakmayai village in Thoubal district and declared it the first LED village in the state.

In a village of 110 households, 2 bulbs were given to each household free of cost. The remaining conventional lights were replaced by a minimum cost.

In addition, 60 LED televisions were provided to as many households at easy installments.
