Ludhiana (Punjab), Apr 08 (ANI): District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) rescued a mentally-challenged woman and her minor son who were locked inside their home for a year. Her step son said, "She had thrown my sister and me out after our father died.

She refused to have food and didn't take medicines." DLSA Secretary-cum-Chief Judicial Magistrate Gurpreet Kaur informed that the woman was rescued on Thursday. "She went into depression after her husband passed away and was locked for a year with her son.

The woman and her child were hospitalised. Child is stable.

We are monitoring the woman," Kaur added.
