Kanpur, Sep 05(ANI): A Muslim family in Kanpur has become an epitome of communal harmony as it celebrates the festival of Krishna Janmashtami. Janmashtami marks the birthday of hindu deity Lord Krishna.

The family of Dr S Ahmed has been celebrating Janmashtami for the last 28 years. Dr.

Ahmed said his family and neighbours backed him wholeheartedly in his decision to celebrate Janmashtami. Dr.

Ahmed's house has an elaborately decorated pedestal dedicated to Lord Krishna, where the ceremonial prayers are performed by the entire family and neighbours. It also has a model of a mosque and Indian flag, depicting his love for the country and all religions.

A Hindu neighbour, Sheelu Dubey, said they all have been celebrating Janmashtami together, keeping aside religious differences and politics. Dr.
