Kochi (Kerala), Sep 29 (ANI): The Supreme Court on September 27 directed demolition of flats built on the coastal zone of Kochi's Maradu within 138 days. SC also asked the Kerala government to pay Rs 25 lakh interim compensation to each flat owner within the time frame of four-weeks. The owners of flat protested and sat on hunger strike in Kerala's Kochi on September 29. They will also meet the District Collector to get their voices heard. The apex court also ordered setting up of a one-member committee of retired high court judge to oversee the demolition and assess total compensation. Court also fixed the matter for further hearing on October 25.
