NHRC recommends CBI probe in Chittoor encounter

Chennai, May 29 (ANI): The National Human Rights Commission has ordered CBI probe into the Chittoor encounter saying that it was a murder not encounter. NHRC member Justice D Murugesan said on Friday that the victims should be given due compensation. He also said that the NHRC teams have interacted with the witnesses and the village residents and the report says that the incident was not an encounter but a murder. He added that the extension for protection of witnesses was also asked.
