No hike in railway fare: Suresh Prabhu (P-2)

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Presenting the Railway Budget for 2016-17, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said there will be no hike in the railway fares for the year 2016-17. Defining his vision that railways must provide a system free from capacity constraint, a system that is efficient, Prabhu, said Indian Railways will surpass ambitious target of commissioning 2,500 km of broad gauge lines, almost 30% higher than last year.

Introducing concession passes on e-booking for journalists, he added that the Rail Ministry will introduce bar-coded tickets bar-coded tickets will be launched. Providing ease to the specially challenged, Prabhu said the ministry will introduce separate toilets for "divyaang" people.

Emphasising over travelling mothers, the minister said that a special menu for children, baby foods, baby boards will be available for ease of travelers.
