Opposition creates ruckus during Governor's address

Srinagar (J-K), Jan 02 (ANI): The National Conference and Congress MLAs created a ruckus during the Governor's address on the first day of J-K budget session on Tuesday. Opposition legislators stood on their seats, displaying banners demanding "restore the spirit of Panchayati Raj Act", after which they staged a walkout and started sloganeering in the middle of Governor's address.

The protestors were opposing the government's move to allow indirect election of sarpanchs. The opposition also gave a memorandum listing charges against the government to support their demand.

The state budget session will begin from today.
