People of all faiths gather to celebrate Urs of Sayyad Jalal Shah Rahmatullah Baba in Uttarakhand

Haldwani, Sep 07 (ANI): India is a land of multiple faiths, and people of the country enjoy this diversity with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. An example of this can be seen in the annual Urs of Sufi Saint Sayyad Jalal Shah, which was celebrated in Haldwani city of Uttrakhand where devotees belonging to different communities came to pay their obeisance to the saint.

During the five-day long celebration, processions and poetry recitation were organised. Thousands of men and women gathered around the shrine of Baba and chanted hymns to seek his blessings and offered 'chadar' or sacred cloth in the shrine.

The spirit witnessed during the Urs reflects the age-old communal harmony between the people of different communities, which is the true essence of India.
