People of different religions congregate at Rathkhada Fair

Samba, Jammu and Kashmir, Jan 10 (ANI): Rathkhada Mela is celebrated in the premises of Narsingh Temple, situated 50 km from Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Mela is also known as blanket fair and is popular for the fine quality of woolen bought and sold here which includes both Hand woven and machine made blankets.

But what makes this fair unique is the amalgamation of different communities, who come from far and wide to experience this fair. They mingle with each other irrespective of their religions.

There are several other things to witness in the fair such as rides, toy shops, food stalls etc. Why this fair is held, people of the region have folklore to tell.

The blanket fair is yet another example of spirit of tolerance and acceptance of differences in the country which has lead to evolution of composite culture.
