Protests erupt in PoK against custodial killing of political activist

Muzaffarabad (PoK), Apr 04 (ANI): People in Muzaffarabad city of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) took to the streets in the wake of a cold blooded custodial killing of Raja Waqar Turk, a political activist on Tuesday. They shouted anti-police and anti-government slogans.

The protesters, who blocked the road and burnt tyres in anger, also demanded an immediate probe into the death of activist. In an attempt to quell the mounting anger against the administration and save itself from media and public scrutiny, the government has formed an enquiry commission which comprises of people who were perpetrators of the crime.

An incriminating CCTV footage-in which a group of policemen are seen going inside the premises where Raja was detained is suggestive of an orchestrated barbarity. After this thrashing Raja was allegedly thrown off a building in which he sustained grave injuries.
