Three Maoists surrender in Odisha

Malkangiri, Sep 06 (ANI): Three Maoists surrendered before police in Malkangiri district of Odisha. The Maoists were the active members of Padia Dalam (armed cadre) group.

Two of them, Muka Kunjami and Mukund Sodhi, were carrying the bounty of rupees 1 lakh (USD 1,499) on their heads. Around 20 cases have been registered against the duo at different police stations in the state.

Another Maoist who surrendered was identified as Budra Kunjami. The Maoists reached the police carrying their guns, cartridges and other belongings.

Sodhi said he was lured by Maoists who made lofty promises but decided to leave after witnessing killings of many innocent people by the group. Malkangiri Superintendent of Police (SP), Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, assured the rehabilitation of the reformed Maoists will be taken care of by the government.
