Tibetan New Year festivities start in Ladakh

Ladakh, Jan 03 (ANI): Residents in Ladakh came out in large numbers to celebrate Tse-Tse (New Year's moon watching ceremony) as part of Losar (Tibetan lunar New Year) festivities. Losar is one of the biggest festivals of Ladakh.

The celebrations last for 15 days. President of LBA Youth Wing, Rinchen Namgail, said the ceremony was organised to promote the Buddhist culture of Ladakh.

Losar is marked with ancient ceremonies that represent the struggle between good and evil. The first three days are the most important.

The celebrations were an amalgamation of ancient rituals, dance dramas and music and dance.
