Toyota Chairman, Ericsson CEO call on PM Modi

New Delhi, Sep 03 (ANI): Japanese automobile maker Toyota Motor Corporation's Chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada and Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hans Vestberg called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Uchiyamada discussed the company's plans of growth and the India-Japanese bilateral ties with Modi, according to a statement from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM).

He also stressed on Toyota's commitment to Modi's pet 'Make in India' campaign by continued investments in the country, apart from laying emphasis on the need to popularize 'greener' hybrid vehicles. Later, Vestberg and other Ericsson officials also held a meeting with the Prime Minister.

Ericsson has announced tie-ups with India's leading telecom operators to roll out 4G services in the national capital, according to a company statement. The company also announced an investment of more than USD 15million in a manufacturing facility in western India, according to reports.
