Transgender community hit Mumbai streets to protest against rising crime

Mumbai, Aug 16 (ANI): Members of transgender community hit the streets in Mumbai on Tuesday to protest against rising incidences of crime. Scores of members of the community, led by 'Akhil Kinner Seva Samiti', a transgender group, held a march from August Kranti Maidan to Girgaon chowpatty to protest against crimes involving transgenders.

A transgender rights activist, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, said there was steep rise in crime involving the members of the community, but the administration and the police was not taking appropriate action in the cases. Tripathi also called for stringent action against the culprits.
