 Thrissur (Kerala), May 08 (ANI): Kerala government has set up a quarantine centre in Guruvayur of Thrissur district for people being brought from different countries. The 181 passengers who were brought to Cochin from Abu Dhabi on an Air India Express flight have been taken to quarantine centres in their respective districts.  Repatriation exercise is part of 'Vande Bharat Mission', to bring back Indian nationals stranded from abroad amid the international travel lockdown over the COVID-19 pandemic.

With a majority of Indian professional actively seeking opportunities to upskill, the country has emerged as the global leader in technological adaptation, according to a report.
More than 70 per cent of Indian professionals are actively seeking opportunities to upskill, said the report released by the Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)-based Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC).
The report highlights the dynamic nature of India's job market, where artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation are becoming integral.
"While global trust in governments to support upskilling remains low at 20 per cent, Indian respondents (31 per cent) and those in Saudi Arabia (35 per cent) demonstrated significantly higher confidence in their governments.
"In contrast, countries like the USA (15 per cent) and UK (12 per cent) reported markedly lower trust levels. Indian respondents also expressed 49 per cent trust in businesses, further emphasizing the private sector's role in workforce development,"

Three persons died and 17 others were injured after a bus of the Mumbai's civic transport body BEST rammed into pedestrians as well as vehicles on Monday night, police and municipal corporation officials said.
It is suspected the accident near the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) L Ward in Kurla took place due to a brake failure, they said, adding the bus driver has been detained.
According to the officials, the driver of the BEST bus on route number 332 lost control over the wheel and dashed into pedestrians as well as some vehicles.
The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking's bus, after ploughing through  pedestrians and vehicles, entered into a residential society, Buddha Colony, and came to a halt, they said.
