West Bengal to release 64 files on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

Howrah/Kolkata, Sept 11 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that the government will make its files on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose public from next Friday, September 18. Banerjee highlighted that the government will make these files public at the Kolkata Police Archives.

This apart, she also said that the West Bengal will undertake an initiative for the digitisation of all files from 1937-1947. With this decision, as many as 64 files on Subhash Chandra Bose with the state government will be declassified.

The central government has not declassified its files. Meanwhile, the BJP welcomed the decision.

Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji's grand nephew who has been demanding this from a long time too welcomed the decision and also urged the central government to declassify its files on Netaji.
