Women activists come out in strong against Abu Azmi,

Bengaluru/New Delhi, Jan 04 (ANI):Women activist Brinda Karat on Wednesday demanded resignation of Karnataka Home Minister G Parmeshwara, who stirred a controversy by saying that incidents of molestation take place on occasions such as New Year and Christmas. Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi also received flak from women activists and the media after the former blamed short dresses for rapid rise in molestation cases.

Women activist Brinda Adige and former chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Barkha Shukla echoed that the political leaders should take responsibility of the security of citizens. Reports have been doing rounds that a number of men mobbed women celebrating at MG Road in Bengaluru on the eve of New Year.
