South Africa is India's key trade, investment partner: PM Modi

Pretoria (South Africa), July 08 (ANI): Speaking at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) business meet on Friday in Pretoria, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about how South Africa is India's key trade and investment partner and that bilateral trade had grown almost by 380 percent in the past few years. Prime Minister Modi said that India-South Africa relations were built on a strong foundation of history and both the countries must look at ways to diversify the trade basket, so as to complement needs and serve the people.

He also said that India is being seen as an engine of global growth and is this could be seen from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development's (UNCTAD) ranking. He further talked about advocating three Ps for India which included public sector, private sector and people's partnership.

The Prime Minister concluded saying how India at present is among the most open economies.
