The US has imposed sanctions on 275 individuals and entities, including 15 from India, for allegedly supporting Russia's military-industrial base.
Companies from China, Switzerland, Thailand, and Turkiye have also been slapped with sanctions for supplying Russia with advanced technology and equipment that it desperately needs to support its war machine, the Department of Treasury said in a statement on Thursday.
In addition to disrupting global evasion networks, this action also targets domestic Russian importers and producers of key inputs and other material for Russia's military-industrial base, the statement said.

Britain's King Charles paid a private visit to Bengaluru for wellness treatment at a sprawling integrative medical facility here, sources said on Wednesday.
Accompanied by Queen Camilla, he stayed at the holistic health centre, known for rejuvenative treatment, including yoga and meditation sessions and therapies, near Whitefield here, an official said.
This was not the King's first visit to the 'SOUKYA', International Holistic Centre at Samethanahalli. He celebrated his 71st birthday here in 2019. It is run by Dr Issac Mathai, who is among the few individuals from India invited to attend his coronation as the UK's King on May 6 last year.

Infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday posted a 5 per cent rise in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 3,395 crore in the September 2024 quarter on account of higher income.
The company's consolidated profit after tax stood at Rs 3,223 crore in the year-ago period, L&T said in a regulatory filing.
"The company for the quarter ended September 30, 2024, posted a consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 3,395 crore, registering a growth of five per cent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year," the filing said.
During the period under review, its consolidated income rose to Rs 62,655.85 crore from Rs 52,157.02 crore in the year-ago period.
Its expenses in the September quarter increased to Rs 57,100.76 crore against Rs 47,165.95 crore a year ago.

Tata Power on Wednesday posted nearly 8 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 1,093.08 crore for the September quarter, mainly on the back of higher revenues.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 1,017.41 crore in the quarter ended September 30, a BSE filing showed.
Its total income rose to Rs 16,210.80 crore in the quarter from Rs 16.029.54 crore a year ago.

A Pakistani terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was killed and four security personnel were injured in an encounter that broke out in the Khanyar area here on Saturday morning, officials said.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the densely populated locality of Khanyar in the interior city following inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, a police official said.
The search operation turned into an encounter as the terrorists opened fire at the search party, which retaliated, the official said.
During the operation, a fire broke out in the house where the terrorists were holed up and thick grey smoke was seen billowing in the sky.
