An unidentified person fired at and injured Baba Siddiqui of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in Mumbai's Bandra East on Saturday evening.
The former state minister has been admitted in Lilavati Hospital nearby, a police official said.  The firing took place outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui's office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, the official added.  "Two to three rounds were fired. Further probe is underway as teams have rushed to the area," the official said.  Siddiqui had recently joined the NCP from the Congress.

Zydus Lifesciences Ltd on Thursday said it has received final approval from the US health regulator to manufacture its generic version of Paliperidone extended-release tablets, used to treat schizophrenia.
The approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) is for Paliperidone extended-release tablets of strengths 1.5 mg, 3 mg, 6 mg, and 9 mg, Zydus Lifesciences said in a regulatory filing.
These tablets will be produced at the group's manufacturing site at SEZ, Ahmedabad, it added.
Paliperidone extended-release tablets are indicated for the acute and maintenance treatment of schizophrenia, acute treatment of schizoaffective disorder as monotherapy and acute treatment of schizoaffective disorder as an adjunct to mood stabilisers and/or antidepressants, the company said.

Farmers practising natural farming in Himachal Pradesh will receive a grant of Rs 33,000 for buying a cow, along with a subsidy of Rs 8,000 for paving the cowshed floor, ATMA official said on Thursday.
"Farmers doing natural farming in the state will be given a grant of Rs 33,000 for buying a local cow besides a subsidy of Rs 8,000 for paving the floor of the cowshed," said Neha Bhardwaj, Assistant Technical Manager of the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), during an event at Manjhiar village.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Monday the bail plea of Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally in a money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.
As per the cause list, a bench of Justices M M Sundresh and Aravind Kumar is likely to take up the matter.
The top court had on August 13 extended the interim bail granted to Boinpally.
On March 20, the top court noted that the businessman had been in custody for 18 months and directed his release on interim bail for five weeks.
Since then, Boinpally's interim bail has been extended from time to time by the apex court.
While granting him interim bail, the top court had asked Boinpally to surrender his passport and directed him not to leave the National Capital Region except for a visit to Hyderabad.

Aerospace startup Space Kidz India has launched "ShakthiSAT", a global mission to train about 12,000 girls across 108 countries on space technology, aiming for a satellite launch under ISRO's Chandrayaan-4 mission, fostering international collaboration in space exploration.
President Droupadi Murmu will unveil the official poster of ShakthiSAT in November 2024, according to a company statement.
"The mission includes 120 hours of online training for high school girl students (aged 14-18) to teach them about various aspects of space technology, payload development, and spacecraft systems," ShakthiSAT mission lead Srimathy Kesan told PTI.
Participating nations include the UK, UAE, Brazil, Kenya, Australia, France, Greece, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan, among others.
By engaging 108 students from each participating country, the mission seeks to nurture talent, foster international collaboration, and ignite interest in the vast possibilities of space science, ultimately creating a ripple .
