Maruti Suzuki India on Sunday reported a 10 per cent year-on-year increase in its total sales at 1,81,531 units in November.
The automaker had dispatched 1,64,439 units to its dealers last November last year.
Total domestic passenger vehicle wholesales were at 1,41,312 units as compared with 1,34,158 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 5 per cent, it added.
Sales of mini segment cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, stood at 9,750 units as against 9,959 units in November 2023. Sales of compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR, declined to 61,373 units as compared to 64,679 units in the year-ago month.
Utility vehicles, consisting of Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara and XL6, clocked sales of 59,003 units last month as compared to 49,016 units earlier.
Sales of van Eeco were at 10,589 units last month as against 10,226 units in November 2023, while that of light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 2,926 units as against 2,509 units earlier.

Real estate developer DRA Homes has set an ambitious target of generating Rs 1,000 crore in revenue by the financial year 2026-27, the company said on Sunday.
DRA Homes plans to expand into the Pune market as part of its three-year growth strategy while strengthening its presence in Bengaluru.
The company has also roped in popular actor Rashmika Mandanna as its national brand ambassador to fuel its growth plans.
DRA Homes reported revenues of Rs 300 crore in FY2023-24 and is projected to achieve Rs 500 crore in FY2024-25.

Tata Consumer Products sees a huge opportunity in the coffee business in India and will focus on scaling up cafes under its joint venture Tata Starbucks, according to its MD & CEO Sunil D'souza.
Tata Starbucks, a 50:50 JV between Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) and Starbucks Corporation which runs Starbucks cafes in India, plans to take the number to 1,000 cafes by FY2027-28.
The JV has 457 stores across 70 cities as of the September quarter.
TCPL also expects growth from its vending business Tata MyBistro', a relatively new entrant in the segment offering a variety of coffee, tea and other drinks mainly to institutional customers.
"With Starbucks, we are very clear that the store profitability is not an issue. And as we get to scale, we know that we can generate profits out of it," D'souza told PTI.

Foreign direct investment in India rose by 45 per cent year-on-year to USD 29.79 billion in April-September this fiscal on healthy inflows in services, computer, telecom and pharma sectors, according to government data.
FDI inflows were at USD 20.5 billion in April-September 2023-24.
In the July-September quarter, the inflows grew by about 43 per cent year-on-year to USD 13.6 billion against USD 9.52 billion in the same quarter last fiscal.
The foreign direct investment in India was up 47.8 per cent to USD 16.17 billion in the April-June quarter.
Total FDI, which includes equity inflows, reinvested earnings and other capital, grew by 28 per cent to USD 42.1 billion during the first half of this fiscal from USD 33.12 billion in April-September 2023-24, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) data showed.

A tribunal has to arrive at its decision by considering all facts and circumstances, and cannot outsource an opinion and base its order on it, the Supreme Court has said and rejected an NGT order.
While hearing the appeals challenging a April 2021 order of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), a bench of Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan said the tribunal committed a "glaring error" as it based its decision only on the basis of the report of a joint committee.
"A tribunal is required to arrive at its decision by fully considering the facts and circumstances of the case before it. It cannot outsource an opinion and base its decision on such an opinion," the bench outlined.
The apex court therefore set aside the NGT's order, which had held a firm guilty of violating the Environment Protection Act norms and imposed a penalty on it.

Odisha recorded over 5.20 lakh dog bite cases between January 2023 and October 2024, according to data provided by the state government in the Assembly on Wednesday.
This means stray canines or domesticated ones have targeted an average of 777 individuals every day during that period.
In a written reply to a question from Rayagada MLA Kadraka Appala Swamy of the Congress, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik said that a total of 5,20,237 dog bite cases were reported in Odisha during those 22 months.
While 2,59,107 dog bite cases were reported during 2023, 2,43,565 such cases were recorded from January to October of 2024.
The maximum number of such cases at 33,547, 32,561 and 29,801 were reported during January, February and March of 2024, respectively.
According to the 2019 Livestock Census, Odisha has 17.34 lakh stray dogs.
