President Donald Trump has ended his predecessor's hold on sending 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, lifting a pressure point that had been meant to reduce civilian casualties during the US ally's war with Hamas in Gaza that is now halted by a tenuous ceasefire.
In a post on his Truth Social network Saturday, Trump said, "A lot of things that were ordered and paid for by Israel, but have not been sent by Biden, are now on their way!"
A Trump administration official confirmed that he was referring to the heavy bombs. The official was not authorized to give that detail publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Then-President Joe Biden halted the delivery of the large bombs in May as part of an effort to keep Israel from launching an all-out assault on the southern Gaza city of Rafah. A month later, Israel did take control of the city, but after the vast majority of the 1 million civilians that had been living or sheltering in Rafah had fled.

State-owned Bank of India (BoI) on Thursday said its board has approved Rs 5,000 crore fund raising through infrastructure bonds.
Long Term Infra Bonds to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore would be raised during the fourth quarter of FY25, BoI said in a regulatory filing.
Domestic investors have shown a lot of interest in such bond issuance by banks, and many lenders have exercised this option for raising resources in the recent past.
The advantage of infrastructure bonds is that they are exempt from regulatory reserve requirements such as Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) and Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR). So, infrastructure bond proceeds can be fully deployed for lending activities.
Banks have been preferring infrastructure bonds over AT-1 and Tier-2 bonds, as they are better priced.

Karnataka's Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil on Thursday said that the Indian machine tool industry is projected to generate revenue of USD 3.8 billion by 2030, driven largely by the dominance of the metal-cutting segment.
Speaking at the inaugural event of IMTEX 2025, organised by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), he noted that India ranks 9th globally in machine tool production and 7th in consumption.

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said the government is working on a model to allow farmers to sell their produce directly to consumers, reducing middlemen's role.
Interacting with about 400 farmers after the Republic Day parade at Pusa campus, Chouhan emphasized that the "farm to consumer" model will help farmers get maximum benefits, an official statement said.
