Asian Games Medal Tally

The 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, will feature 469 medal events across 43 sports and 71 disciplines, with 1,407 medals up for grabs. India is sending 503 athletes — 269 men and 234 women — across 36 disciplines. Including coaches, officials and support staff, India's overall contingent strength stands at 768.

India will look to improve on its record haul of 107 medals, including 28 gold, at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023. Athletics and shooting will again be central to India's medal hopes after contributing 29 and 22 medals, respectively, in Hangzhou. Archery, wrestling, squash, rowing, boxing and badminton are also expected to be major medal-winning sports.

India will also target gold medals in team events. The country is the defending champion in men's and women's cricket, as well as men's and women's kabaddi. Men's hockey is another strong medal prospect.

Among India's key individual medal hopes are Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Suruchi Singh in shooting, Jyothi Surekha Vennam in archery, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty in badminton, and Avinash Sable and Jyothi Yarraji in athletics.
