The seventh season of the popular fantasy drama series "Game of Thrones" will premiere on July 16, cable network HBO has announced.
The series, which is set to end after the eighth season, has also been teased with a brief new trailer with dragon graphics and selected lines of dialogue, reports theguardian.com.
Unlike earlier, when 10 episodes were aired in every season, the seventh season will consist of just seven installments and will be a combination of original stories and elements from creator George RR Martin's upcoming novels "The Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring".
While details for the seventh season are kept under wraps, actress Emilia Clarke earlier teased that there will be "another battle that's epic" to follow on from the Battle of the Bastards.
