Two is better than one, they say, and perhaps that premise holds even stronger when you are all wired about your workout. If you can't afford a personal trainer, find your fitness buddy, say experts.

There are enough and more people around you looking to lose the same number of kilos or those who prefer an exercise regime similar to what suits you best.

For Sukriti Bansal, who's favourite fitness fancy for years has been water aerobics, it helped finding a friend who was willing to pair up at the community pool in the absence of formal water aerobics classes.

"I have been doing regular aerobics at the gym and weight training because I didn't find any pool that offered water aerobics. And it would also be highly absurd for me to start doing aerobics by myself in the community pool so I'm glad I found someone to work out with," she says.

The important thing to keep in mind, fitness experts say, more than the fact that you find a partner who has a similar workout regime in mind, is picking someone who will be as regular as you.

Motivation, pressure, and an incentive to reach your aim more easily
