Datsun to launch Redi-Go on Thursday

The new hatchback will compete against the Maruti Alto 800 and the Renault Kwid. The Redi-Go is based on the CMF-A platform, which is currently shared by the Renault Kwid. Datsun is the small car unit of Japanese major Nissan.

The Redi-Go is likely to be powered by an 800 cc engine - the same as with the Kwid - mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. Analysts expect the car to be priced below Rs2.5 lakh.

Datsun launched two other small cars - the Go and Go plus - but they failed to make a mark in the Indian market.

At the Delhi Auto Expo 2016, Datsun showcased its Go-cross Concept for the first time. The crossover concept is the brand's vision for a potential Datsun GO/GO+ family expansion into high-growth markets, adding a sense of style, adventure and fun to the expo line-up.
