Adil Zainulbha joins RIL board as independent director

In his 34 years' career Zainulbhai has worked with India's largest companies as a management consultant

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani promoted Reliance Industries said that it appointed Adil Zainulbhai as an independent director on the company’s board. Zainulbhai was till recently working as the chairman at top-notch global management consulting firm McKinsey's India office.

In his 34 years career Zainulbhai, an alumnus of Harvard Business School, has worked with India’s largest companies in a range of industries including infrastructure, metals and mining, financial services and pharmaceuticals to help them become global leaders. He also worked with leading multinational companies build large profitable business in India.

“Adil is undoubtedly one of the finest consulting minds in the world and we are delighted to have him join our board. I look forward to his contributions in strengthening Reliance and preparing the organization for sustained high growth,” said Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director, Reliance Industries.

With his induction, the board of the company has expanded to 14 members with 8 members being Independent directors. Other independent directors include Dipak C Jain, Dharam Vir Kapur, Manshingh L Bhakta, Yogendra P Trivedi, Mahesh P Modi, Ashok Misra and Raghunath A Mashelkar.

Zainulbhai also serves on the boards of nonprofit organisations including the American India Foundation, Wockhardt Foundation and Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust which is redeveloping Mumbai’s Bhendi Bazaar.
