Buoyed by increased sales, Ambuja Cement today reported a 20.5 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 391 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 325 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, it said in a statement.
During the quarter under consideration, net sales of the company rose by 10.8 per cent to Rs 2,048 crore against Rs 1,847 crore in the year-ago period.
The company said that production of cement for the second quarter of the current fiscal rose by 12.7 per cent to 5.5 million tonnes, compared to 4.9 million tonnes for the same quarter last year.
