AP Dairy goes for Rs 35-cr expansion

With chief minister K Rosaiah giving the green signal on Tuesday, the Andhra Pradesh dairy development cooperative federation will expand the capacity of its milk processing unit at Lalapet here at a cost of Rs 35 crore. On completion, the unit will be able to process 600,000 litres of milk a day.
The chief minister also cleared proposals for setting up two milk chilling centres in Anantapur district at a cost of Rs 3.3 crore and for recruitment of an additional 120 veterinary doctors and 400 compounders.
