Aspire Systems completes acquisition of Versant Tech

Technology services company Aspire Systems has completed the acquisition of Hyderbad-based software services firm Versant Technology that specialises in Oracle retail solutions for an "undisclosed amount".

"Aspire Systems today announced the completion of its acquisition of Versant Technologies, a company with an in-depth experience and specialisation in Oracle Retail and Electronic Data Interchange Implementation," Chennai-based Aspire Systems said in a statement.

The acquisition will enhance Aspire's existing capabilities for the Retail, Distribution and Consumer Goods vertical, and position the company as a leading solutions provider for this vertical, it said.

"This acquisition is extremely strategic and important to us. Retail is one of the fastest growing industries across the globe and is heavily impacted by the increasing influence of Social Media, Mobility and Analytics.", Aspire Systems Chairman and CEO Gowri Shankar Subramanian said.

Aspire Systems offers product engineering, enterprise solutions, independent testing services and infrastructure and application support services.

"We are thrilled and excited to be a part of Aspire. One of the first aspects that caught my attention during the early discussions with Aspire is that we share a similar philosophy and culture," Versant Technologies founder Naidu Darapaneni said.

Aspire Systems has over 1,150 employees and serves 60 clients globally, the statement added.
