In order to strengthen its position in the low-cost tablet market, the company has already announced MeMo Pad priced at Rs 9,999 and is planning to launch more such devices in future.
"The local brands have launched tablets before us and have hence developed the initial market... With Asus MeMo Pad and now the Asus Nexus 7, we have ventured into this device market segment and will be soon introducing more products to India," Chang said.
Asked if the company is planning to set up a manufacturing facility in the country, Chang said, "Asus doesn't have our own factory, instead we're co-working with worldwide OEM/ODM (original equipment manufacturer)...We'll discuss with them about the possibilities to have facility in India."
