Bangalore-based Anu Solar partners German firm

Bangalore-based Anu Solar, manufacturers of solar water heaters and energy products has partnered Germany based Smart Energysystems International AG. As part of the joint venture Anu Solar will manufacture solar generators using German technology for the Indian market at its manufacturing facility in Bangalore.

The Indo- German solar called as 'Anu Smart' in the ranges of 300 W, 600 W, 1000 W, 1500 W, 2000 W, 4000 W to 6000 W. These high efficiency generators are capable of running inductive loads like motors, air conditioners, heaters, heavy duty loads and even medical laboratories, the company said.

“We were looking for a partner to enter the India market as the market opportunity is high in the country. With this joint venture we can use our technology and the expertise of Anu Solar and we are bullish about this,” said Erich Hauck, CEO, Smart Energysystems International AG. He also said that there is a huge need for looking at alternate forms of energy.

Anu Solar which has a manufacturing facility in Bangalore is building a new facility which is expected to commence operation by first half of 2013. With the new plant becoming operational it expects to increase the production capacity of all its products.

Presently, the company has over 40 per cent market share in the Bangalore water heater market and with this partnerships expect to bring new innovative products to the market. It also said that the company is initially looking at South India as the market and will widen its presence across India going forward.

T J Joseph, MD Anu Solar said “The new solar generators are over ten times more cost effective than traditional generators. Traditional generators incur a cost of Rs 23 per unit whereas the cost per unit for solar generators is as low as Rs. 2.5” 

The new solar generator Anu SMART is priced at Rs 40,000 and is aimed private sector.
