Bata opens first Hush Puppies outlet in Hyderabad

As part of its retail expansion strategy , Bata India Limited on Friday unveiled the country's first exclusive Hush Puppies outlet at Hyderabad.

"We have entered into an agreement with US-based footwear giant Wolverine to manufacture and sell its Hush Puppies brand in the country. By opening this exclusive store, we aim to offer the complete range of over 100 designs of Hush Puppies shoes and sandals," Marcelo Villagran, managing director of Bata India, said here.

Stating that the company would open one more exclusive Hush Puppies store in the country at Delhi this year, he said they would assess the response from these two stores, before building a chain in this format.

Driven by its expansion of Bata outlets in the country, Villagran said the company expected its revenues to touch Rs 1,000 crore by this December, as compared with Rs 8,00 crore last year.

"We have opened 70 Bata stores across the country during this year, taking the total number to 1,200. We aim at opening 70-80 stores annually, in the next three years," he added.
