BEL net up 49% to Rs 25.60 crore in Q1

Total income from operations for the quarter went up 12.6% to Rs 1,012 crore

Bangalore-based defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has reported 49% rise in net profit at Rs 25.60 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2014 compared to Rs 17.18 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The total income from operations for the quarter went up 12.6% to Rs 1,012 crore compared to Rs 898 crore in the first quarter of last year.

The company has, however, reported an operating loss of Rs 81 crore, which is lower by Rs 8 crore compared to Rs 89 crore operating loss in the same quarter last year.
