Bosch Limited posted 69 per cent fall in net profit after tax to Rs 49.38 crore during its first quarter ending March 31, 2009, from Rs 161.72 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier.
On a sequential basis, net profit decreased 48 per cent from Rs 94.22 crore in the quarter ending December 31 last year.
Annual net sales for the quarter ending March 31, 2009 were Rs 991.69 crore against Rs 1,205 crore a year earlier, declining 18 per cent. Annual sales on a sequential basis increased a marginal 1.8 per cent from Rs 974.40 crore posted in the December quarter of last year.
Bosch Ltd had posted revenues of Rs 4,620 crore for the year ended December 31, 2008.
Roughly 70 per cent of the company’s total equity base is controlled by the promoters and promoter groups with the balance held by the public.
