US-based biopharmaceutical major Celgene Corporation on Wednesday started its India operations from a 10,000 sft unit here.
Celgene has formed a technical collaboration with ValueLabs, a Hyderabad-based software development and testing company, to get human resources and infrastructure assistance. “The company is planning to expand its employee strength to 150 from the existing 50 within four months and 300 employees by 2013,” Madhu Seelam, program director, India Centre of Excellence, said.
ValueLabs will leverage its strength in building specialised teams to support Celgene in Hyderabad. “All the backoffice work will be done from this unit and the IT services will support to run operations in other countries across the Celgene networks,” Seelam added.
