CII pitches in for skill development

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Eastern region, will initiate district-level development plans and skill mapping in Chhattisgarh. The CII Eastern Region is trying to initiate district-level development plans and skill mapping in Chhattisgarh besides promoting urbanisation, Ranaveer Sinha, Deputy Chairman of CII Eastern Region, said.

The theme of the CII Eastern Region for the Year 2010-11 was building capacity and accelerating growth. “The theme encompasses plans for promoting the eastern region, enhancing competitiveness, engaging with other state governments, sustainable development, inclusive growth and engagement among members,” Sinha added.

"Rapid infrastructure development for inclusive growth, policy advocacy, facilitation of import and export, urbanisation, health, corporate social responsibility and environment were the key focus areas of CII in Chhattisgarh," Sinha added.

Sinha met chief minister Raman Singh with a delegation. He told Singh that CII wished to work in the areas of skill development and setting up of skill centre in the State. CII has selected 14 districts in the region for skill mapping and visioning exercise.
