Consumer goods maker Colgate Palmolive India today said its net profit in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009, stood at Rs 77.07 crore, while it had a net profit of Rs 55.62 crore for the same quarter ended March 2008.
"Effective April 2, 2008, the company acquired 75 per cent of the shareholding of CC Healthcare Products Pvt Ltd for a total consideration of Rs 193.83 lakh. Accordingly, in respect of consolidated results, previous period figures are not comparable," Colgate Palmolive said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total revenue of the company stood at Rs 472.20 crore for the quarter ended March 2009, however, it had a total revenue of Rs 407.64 crore for the same quarter last year.
For the year ended March 31, 209, the company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 285.78 crore, while it had a net profit of Rs 235.76 crore in the previous fiscal.
Shares of Colgate Palmolive India were trading at Rs 468.60, up 3.31 per cent on the BSE.
