Dalmia cements Q2 net up by 33.9%

Chennai-based cement manufaturers Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited has posted a 33.9 per cent growth in the net profit to Rs 53.85 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 40.19 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The net sales of the company rose to Rs 558.83 crore as compared to Rs 449.21 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from sugar business has surged up to Rs 116.73 crore for the quarter as against Rs 62.94 crore in the year-ago period .

The revenue of the company from cement business also increased to Rs 397.98 crore as compared to Rs 349.10 crore in the year-ago period.
