"The acquisition of Safe Technology, based in Sheffield, expands Dassault Systemes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform and its realistic simulation applications, providing the most complete and accurate durability prediction solution on the market," Dassault said in a statement.
The company, however, did not reveal financial details of the acquisition.

"Advanced fatigue and durability software solutions are an essential part of the product design process. Safe Technology will enhance Dassault Systemes' SIMULIA structural simulation to predict and analyse product life quickly and accurately," Dassault President and CEO Bernard Charles said.
Safe Technology develops and sells 'fe-safe' technology, which is used by companies in automotive, off-highway, military, off-shore, power generation, wind energy and many other industries.
It has more than 500 customers, including General Motors, Caterpillar, Cummins, Emerson Climate Technologies, Honda Jets, Harley Davidson Motor Company and Hyundai Motors, the statement said.
