A technical team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) arrived at Hubballi Airport on Tuesday morning and inspected the SpiceJet aircraft that crash landed on Sunday night.

The six-member team also inspected the runway and held discussions with the local airport officials. The team did not reveal the findings.

The SpiceJet SG-1085 aircraft that arrived from Bengaluru on Sunday night had had a rough landing and overshot the runway at the Hubballi airport. All the 77 passengers and four crew members on board had had a providential escape.

The technical team that inspected the crash landing site is understood to have examined the possibility of bad weather and poor visibility of the runway, resulting in the rough landing. The flight service to Hubballi has been suspended for the time being, the officials said.
