Dunlop India today said it is aiming for a turnover of Rs 550 crore for the current fiscal compared to Rs 180 crore in 2009-10.
"We are looking at Rs 550 crore during the current fiscal as we hope to increase production to 60-70 tonne from 30 tonne now at both Ambattur and Shahgunj units," Dunlop Group Chairman Pawan Kumar Ruia said on the sidelines of the the company today.
"First we want to stabilise production at 30 tonne before we increase it at the Shahgunj plant," he said.
The Ambattur plant would take up production of and three wheeler tyres shortly beside OTR and truck tyres.
Asked whether Dunlop brand would be used for two and three wheeler tyres, Ruia clarified that they would be sold as Falcon tyres while those for four wheelers would be branded Dunlop.
On whether the political situation in West Bengal has impacted the Shahgunj unit, Ruia said: "The industry is apprehensive, but not worried as industry has to be boosted nothwithstanding anyone coming to power."
