Eka Software Solutions, a Bangalore-based provider of commodities trading and risk management technologies has strengthened its senior management team.

The Nexus Venture Partners investee company has promoted Rick Nelson, who was earlier heading its Global Sales as the President and COO.

The company also said that Julie Hance who was previously working with Itron International as VP for Software Solutions Group, has been appointed as the Sr. VP – Strategy and Product Management in the company.

Both of them will be located in the US. “I am very pleased to have Rick as COO. He has been making a tremendous contribution to the company’s growth and I have confidence in his abilities to deliver on our ambitious growth strategy,” Manav Garg, founder and CEO of Wka Software said.

In his new role, Rick will be responsible for managing global sales, account management, implementation and support organisations.

The company also said that it has appointed Mumu Pande as Vice President – Engineering. Pande was previously working with Oracle Corporation as a part of their core product engineering team.

Eka was founded by Garg in 2004 with initial funding of $5 million from his previous employer, GP Group. In 2009, the company had raised a funding of $10 million from venture capital firm, Nexus Venture Partners. The company’s clients include Noble Group, CHS and CBH Grain among others.
