Emami Q1 net profit up 30% at Rs 61 crore

Net sales rise 13% to Rs 384 crore

FMCG major Emami has reported a net profit of Rs 61 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal, showing a growth of 30.2% over the same period a year ago.

Company's net sales stood at 384 crore in the quarter under review, showing a growth of 13.2% over the same period a year ago.

Domestic business has been growing at a robust pace. However, the early monsoon in June this year impacted the growth of summer brands which contribute bulk of revenues in the the two first quarters. The domestic business thus grew at a lower rate of 12%, Emami said in a statement.
