Fertiliser Stocks Drop To 1.71 M Tonne

The inventory level of urea has shown a sharp drop in the current financial year compared to 2001-02 in spite of a sluggish consumption pattern.

The inventory level was at 1.71 million tonne as on end-December 2002 compared with 1.90 million tonne in December 2001.

As per official data, total despatches of urea in 2002-03 were at 4.89 million tonne, compared with 5.17 million tonne in the previous financial year
