Global Economic Summit in Mumbai in Jan

Aiming to assist SMEs grow and forge cross-border alliances, the World Trade Centre and All India Association of Industries (AIAI) together announced the second edition of the Global Economic Summit between January 27-29, 2011 at the WTC in the city.

"We expect participation from over 30 countries including the UK and the US in the summit, which will be held on January 27-29, 2011, at the Expo Centre, WTC, Mumbai," AIAI President Vijay Kalantri told reporters at a press conference here.

This will be a globally co-ordinated platform to promote international co-operation and exchange amongst SMEs to enable them to forge cross border alliances, Kalantri said.
    
The focus sectors would comprise agro-food processing and packaging, auto components, electrical and electronics, industrial safety and pharmaceuticals, textiles, garments and leather, bio-technology, health-care and finance, he said.
    
Over 180 delegates from overseas and 125 from India are expected, Kalantri said.
